GALWAY
The colorful port city of Galway seduces with its nascent cultural scene, rich musical heritage and roots in Irish history. Stroll along Salthill Promenade and breathe in the sea air from Galway Bay. For a unique glimpse of the city’s heritage and architecture, be sure to stop by the cathedral, Galway City Museum and medieval Kirwan’s Lane. In summer, the Galway International Arts Festival and the Galway Film Fleadh attract culture lovers from around the world: immerse yourself in the excitement of the artistic, theatrical and musical scene.
SPIKE ISLAND
If you have always been fascinated by the famous Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco, you will love an excursion to Spike Island! Located in the port of Cork, this island has an exciting history. Over the past 1,300 years, Spike Island has gone from a 6th-century monastery to a large fortress and then to a prison. Today, it is a public museum and is an ideal excursion from Cork City. It is best to devote a whole day to exploring this « Alcatraz of Ireland » in order to fully enjoy its various attractions.
DUBLIN
Stroll through the capital of Ireland, with its pretty cobblestone-lined canals, and visit Ireland’s oldest university, Trinity College Dublin. The magnificent St. Patrick’s Cathedral is another major historical attraction. No trip to Dublin is complete without a visit to Temple Bar. As you enter this famous district, you will hear Irish folk music emanating from the many bars, pubs and street musicians – a real feast for the ears. The charm of Belfast operates, from the winding streets of the Cathedral Quarter to the maritime cove of Belfast Lough.
